What the calculators do with your numbers
Every calculation runs in your own browser. The measurements you type are not sent to our servers or to anyone else, and we do not store them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which calculators people use, so we know what to improve. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), your device and browser type, and an approximate location such as country or city. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. It never receives the numbers you type into a calculator.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are switched off. We use Google Consent Mode, so without your consent Google receives only cookieless signals with no identifiers, which it uses to estimate overall traffic.
- Everywhere else, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (
_gaand_ga_…) that distinguish visitors and last up to two years.
You can stop Google Analytics by blocking cookies in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Accounts and other storage
Yardstick Tools has no accounts and shows no ads, so it sets no advertising cookies. Your light or dark mode choice may be saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to deliver and protect the service. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Embedded calculators
If another website embeds one of our calculators, it is loaded from our site inside a frame, under this same policy.
Changes
If we add advertising or change how analytics works, we will update this page before the change goes live and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
