How many tiles cover 100 square feet with 1/8-inch grout joints, before and after 10% extra for cuts, and about how much sanded grout fills the joints. Small tiles are figured ¼ inch thick and the rest ⅜ inch.

Smaller tiles need far more grout, because there is more joint in every square foot. Grout figures follow a leading brand's sanded grout coverage chart and include 10% extra.
Which calculator do you need?
Tiling a floor, a shower wall or a backsplash? The tile calculator counts the tiles and boxes for any tile size and grout joint, adds extra for straight or diagonal layouts, and estimates the grout.
Other projects around the house have their own calculators: the plywood calculator counts sheets for subfloors, walls and roofs, the stair calculator lays out risers and stringers, and the deck board calculator handles decking and screws. Outside, the gravel calculator and sand calculator size paths, patios and paver bases.
